Okashi-kei (お菓子系, literally "sweets-style") refers to a loosely defined subgenre of Japanese gravure and idol magazines that peaked in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Named after sweets, fruits, or snack foods, these magazines were known for their soft-focus, "cute" aesthetic and youth-oriented branding. The term is now used mainly in retrospective discussions rather than as an active industry label.
