Side: Milly
Hello!
It's been a while since my POV!!
With Seraria, Ratz, and Eris mostly handling internal affairs, I was starting to think my presence had gotten a bit thin—but at Yuki-san's request, I've been put in charge of managing the Adventurer District and the Dungeon District, and in terms of sheer size, I actually oversee the largest area.
That's right—it's not that I've faded into the background. It's that Weed has just been founded, and starting today, a large number of adventurers are pouring in.
From here on out, it's my time.
And, sorry to the other wives, but the story's going to revolve around me.
"Alright, a lot happened yesterday, but the festival continues today. I'm counting on all of you."
"""Yes!"""
Everyone responded to Yuki-san's words.
Incidentally, the Hero from Yuki-san's hometown has already headed back, taking that "trash princess" with him. It seems he's proceeding with preparations as planned, but since starting military action takes a massive amount of preparation, it'll be at least a month before anything happens.
Still, after insulting Weed this much, they're going back through the gate to Gartz? What's that supposed to mean?
They're looking down on us, aren't they?
Yeah... we'll make sure that trash princess gets what she deserves.
"Well then, time to head to the Adventurer's Guild."
With that, I set off for work along with everyone else.
Yesterday, we were gathered at the temporary government office to deal with the kings, but aside from that, we handled our duties as usual.
We do technically have free time, but since everyone has their own roles and responsibilities, most of us stay on standby. Especially in the newly opened Adventurer District and Dungeon District, there are a lot of rough types, so problems are frequent.
Just yesterday alone:
- 8 fights
- 4 cases of threats against shops
- 15 disturbances at the guild
And yet—not a single arrest.
Thankfully, the selected adventurers who arrived earlier have been actively helping maintain order. In particular, Orvic-san and his group—acquaintances of Tori and Riel—have taken a liking to Weed and have been very cooperative.
"Wait, Milly. Can I come with you today?"
"Eh!? I don't mind at all. But, but... I won't really be able to give you much attention at the workplace, you know? But if you still want that..."
Oh my... Yuki-san, wanting to "do things" together at the workplace... I'm happy, but work is... well, if we lock ourselves in the office...
"No, no, calm down. Didn't we already agree we'd take care of that properly after the festival?"
"...Ehh."
"You don't sound happy."
"It's not fun having you just follow me for work. I want you to be affectionate."
"...Alright."
Yuki-san dropped his head in defeat.
Fufu... because of yesterday's incident, Yuki-san can't really say no to us right now. Thanks to that, we've started taking baths together every day—though it's all of us together. Hugs are a given, and I also made sure he has to give us a "good morning" kiss every day.
Yes, that is a very good thing. Everyone is glowing in the morning. Yuki-san is strangely shy, so things like that feel fresh and nice.
"Oh, by the way, what about dealing with the kings?" I asked.
"That's fine. We'll handle that."
"Yes, leave Gartz to me."
"I will handle Arshtelle-sama. More importantly, keep a proper eye on your husband. Yesterday proved he tends to overdo things."
When I asked, Seraria, Sheila, and Rurua all spoke up.
I see—the right people in the right places.
"Yep, leave it to me. As long as I'm holding his arm like this, he'll be fine."
I hugged Yuki-san's arm tight. I'm not letting you go.
"Onii-chan! We're coming too!!"
"I'll stay with Nii-sama. I'll protect him!!"
"...Indeed. The more guards, the better."
It looked like the little ones were coming along too. These kids don't really have jobs, so they should be playing around since it's a festival day. But since we all share the same man as a husband, I appreciate the sentiment.
"Well then, restrain his other side."
"Got it, Milly-oneechan!!"
"Understood, Milly-neesama!!"
"...I'll take my usual spot."
The three of them hung off Yuki-san's other arm and his head.
No matter how many times I see it, they look more like children than lovers. I suppose the day will come when I'll be walking around with Yuki-san and our own children like this. I can't wait... Oh, I think I'm going to get a nosebleed.
* * *
And so, the four of us arrived at the Adventurer District.
"Wow, there are so many people!"
"Nii-sama, Milly-neesama, I want to peek into that equipment shop over there!!"
"...Don't wander off, you two."
Filia has the soul of a blacksmith, so she's naturally interested in that kind of stuff.
"No can do. Today is work. Well, if you want to go personally, I won't stop you, but don't get lost, okay?"
"Uu... I want to stay with Onii-chan!!"
"I'll endure it."
"...I wasn't planning to go in the first place."
Yuki-san was lecturing them while I walked beside him, arms linked.
Ah... we look like the ideal couple with a bunch of kids, don't we?
* * *
Feeling all warm and fuzzy, we arrived at the Adventurer's Guild.
Like a supermarket, there is a back entrance, but there's no rule saying staff must use it. So, we entered through the front door as usual, but...
"Yes, yes, the reception is over here!"
"If you want to use the direct gate to the dungeon, go to the Dungeon District and find the item there. That will grant you access!!"
The staff were looking very busy.
Since general adventurers started arriving yesterday, the place was packed. It was busy yesterday too—I even ended up having to help at the reception.
"Oh, isn't that Milly-chan? Come handle my reception!"
"He's right! Over here, over here!"
Just as Yuki-san was talking to the Guild Master, Rock-san, some idiots called out to me.
"See? I told you yesterday, the women here are top-tier."
"Seriously, huh. Hey, how about dinner after this?"
Drop dead.
Get lost.
"Hey, you."
"Hm?"
"What are you doing bringing children here? This isn't an orphanage. You looking down on us?"
One of the idiots calls out to Yuki-san, who had just finished speaking with Rock-san and was looking around the guild.
"Looking down on you? Wasn't it explained that this place is accessible even to children?"
"Like I care. I'll make 'em stop that right away. Adventurers are risking their lives; brats like these are just in the way. Right?"
"Yeah. Hurry up and take those brats home and behave yourself, skinny older brother."
"""Yeah, yeah!!"""
The group of idiots chimed in.
Rock-san put his hand to his face. Kina and the other colleagues had "Oh boy" expressions. Don't worry, I won't get angry over something like this.
"Hey!! What's all the ruckus!?"
"Oh, Orvic-san. Look at this brother here. We're telling him to leave because he brought kids here."
"Kids? ...Wait, you guys, stop! These people are...!"
"Man, as a fellow guy, you're pathetic. Even after being told all that, you still don't have the guts to fight back?"
Sorry, Ovic-san. I can't hold back.
THUD.
"Huh?"
A dull impact echoed through the guild.
"You insulted my husband, so I assume you're prepared for the consequences, right?"
"M-Milly...-chan?"
At my feet, one of the idiots who had just insulted Yuki-san is face-down, lips planted on the floor.
Well, I made him do it.
"Listen carefully. This place is too safe, so to teach how terrifying monsters are, we deliberately made it usable even for children. Just because you people whine about it doesn't mean we'll change anything—and we have no intention of doing so. In fact, since you've clearly heard that explanation, your behavior alone is enough to suspend your dungeon access. Would you like me to do that? I can arrange it very easily."
"W-Why are you saying something like that, Milly-chan!? You're just a receptionist, aren't you?"
The group that had been making a fuss took a step back under my intimidation.
"Wait, Representative Milly. It's festival time, and they're probably a little excited. Let them off with a warning. It'd be a waste to ban them."
"H-Hey, did the Guild Master just call her 'Representative'?"
"Wasn't the Representative supposed to be the highest authority in this dungeon?"
Whispers started to break out.
Rock hears them and says—
"That's right. Milly is a Representative of this dungeon. Furthermore, she is the Representative of the Adventurer and Dungeon Districts, meaning she holds all authority over these areas."
GULP.
Someone swallowed hard.
"Furthermore, that gentleman over there is the husband of Seraria-sama—no, Her Majesty the Queen, the lord of this territory. And the children around him are each under the protection of a Representative. And the one clinging to Yuki-sama's head is Labyris-sama, the General Dungeon Representative. She holds full authority over everything."
"Heh, leaving things to a kid like that... they must be crazy."
Someone mutters.
"Ara? How rude. She has the strength to match it."
Before anyone realized it, Labyris was standing right in front of the man who had muttered.
"I'm with Milly on this. I'm not the kind of woman who stays quiet when Yuki is insulted."
After giving him a sweet smile, the man found himself pinned to the ceiling.
The entire Adventurer's Guild fell into silence. Every single person was looking at me and Labyris.
""Now then, please follow the rules and do your jobs, okay?""
As we said it in unison, everyone nodded their heads vigorously.
From this day on, a certain rumor began to circulate in Weed:
'If you value your life, never insult the Representative's husband.'
