For the time being, I started chatting with Luna in my private room while sipping some tea.

By the way, I had her transfer all my personal belongings from my apartment on Earth here. It seems electricity can be used by converting mana... well, I'll leave the complicated stuff alone for now. She even made it so the internet and TV work, so as long as Earth hasn't been destroyed, I should be able to watch them.

"Alright, the only thing left is for you to check and understand your own abilities. There's no point in combat training with me anyway—you'll have to learn things here."

"Got it. So how do I check those abilities?"

"Just say, ‘Status!!'"

Okay... yeah, she's a god.

I have no idea if those stats are high or low, but her age had digits going into the tens of millions... fine, I admit it—Luna is definitely a god.

"Why are you only looking at my age!? Be surprised by my other stats!"

"I don't have a baseline, so I can't be surprised. That's why I compared the one thing I understand: age."

My logic was flawless.

"Hurry up and open yours too!"

"Yeah, yeah."

I have no reason to shout "Status" like a dork, so I used no-chanting.

I have a lot of skills. Luna's are too high to serve as a reference, so I still couldn't tell if my stats were high or low.

"Heh, as expected of someone born on Earth. Your mana and knowledge are off the charts."

"Wait, I thought Earth didn't have mana?"

"No, it's just not utilized. You didn't need it to live, right?"

I see. We just never had a reason to use it.

"Look, I can't tell anything by comparing myself to you, so teach me. What's the average?"

"Right, let me show you the baseline. The average stats for an 18-year-old male living in Aroulit are..."

As Luna started to display them, I held up a hand.

"Wait a sec. Why am I 18? I'm 26."

"Well, obviously I chose the age where you'd perform the best."

This goddess can even do de-aging...

"Here's the world average."

Average 18-year-old male (Lv. 5)

AGI: 43

LUK: 30

Skills: Average of 3 or 4.

I see. My stats are basically average, except for the mana-related stuff.

It makes sense that my physical strength is a bit lacking; in a world equivalent to Medieval Europe, most people probably have jobs that require heavy manual labor.

I wondered how things like Strength were calculated, so I asked Luna.

"Oh, Strength is easier than you think. Think of it as Strength = Attack Power. Subtract Defense from that to chip away at HP. How many times do you think you can be hit before hitting zero?"

"I see. To chip away 150 HP, it would take about 10 hits. A full-force punch landing cleanly would be fatal."

"Exactly. Though with guards and critical hits, it rarely goes exactly like that."

"Oh, right. Since you have 'All-Purpose Appraisal' in your skills, why don't you look at your subordinate Slime and Goblin?"

"Got it."

I summoned one Goblin and one Slime. Being able to call them via the Dungeon Skill "Monster Summoning" is very convenient.

A quick explanation on monsters: I can summon them from the dungeon's summoning circles using my mana. My 300 DP investment broke down into 50 DP each for a Goblin Circle and a Slime Circle. Maintenance is 2 DP per head, meaning I have 50 Goblins and 50 Slimes roaming around. I imagine the cost skyrockets as the monster rank or rarity increases.

Let's check their stats.

"Huh? Their levels are higher than mine... and Slimes in this world are surprisingly strong."

Slime strength varies wildly in stories and games. Being liquid lifeforms, they often have settings where they can only be defeated by fire or magic. My "weak" image of them was mostly due to Dragon Qu**t, though even in that game, they can become legends if you grind them to Level 99.

"What are you saying? Even if their Level is higher than the summoner, their stats shouldn't be so... pfft—hahaha! What's with these slime and goblin!? They have way too many skills!! And despite their levels, their MP and Intelligence are off the charts!! Earth is terrifying indeed!"

Luna, having apparently used Appraisal herself, was looking at the goblin and slime and laughing hysterically.

Looking at their stats, I realized their Intelligence was high enough that they might be smarter than average humans.

"Hey, does this mean they're smarter than humans?" I asked Luna.

"Well, stats represent potential. Can you perfectly draw out 100% of your current ability at any time?"

"So you're saying even if their Intelligence is higher, it means nothing if they haven't learned anything?"

"Exactly. No matter how much potential intelligence you have, if you haven't learned a single thing, you're inferior to someone who has learned one thing. Strength, Defense, and Agility are straightforward, but Intelligence is different. Humans increase it easily, but it's hard for monsters to raise it."

I see. If I teach these guys, they might eventually be able to do math and handle money. For now, I'll hammer some tactics into them. Without that, neither they nor I will survive.

"Well then, it's about time for me to head back. If you use the mail-order system over there, you can contact me. I also sell maps of this area for DP, so do your best. This location is a spot where both people and monsters will likely come; as long as you play it right, you won't run out of DP."

Luna stood up. I saw her off without getting out of my seat.

"You really half-assed the prep, didn't you? You could at least tell me about the local geography or the political situation."

"Oh, it's no fun knowing everything from the start. Fumbling in the dark is better for growth."

And just like that, Luna vanished.

"I've got the environment set up, but I have no clue what kind of land I'm standing on... Still, going out to explore on my own would be reckless. I think I'll just shut myself in the dungeon and play some games for a while."

And so, the first day came to a close.
